adults: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 mL) every 4 hours.
Important: Maximum of 4 doses per day, or as prescribed by a physician.
This preparation contains codeine and should not be administered to children except as prescribed by a doctor or dentist.
Each 5 mL (1 teaspoonful) of syrup contains: 3.33 mg of codeine phosphate, 12.5 mg of diphenhydramine hydrochloride and 125 mg of ammonium chloride.
Non-medicinal ingredients: FD&C yellow #6, alcohol, amaranth, glycerin, menthol, purified water, raspberry flavour, simethicone, sorbitol and sucrose.
Store this product between 15oC and 30oC.
KEEP OUT OF SIGHT aND REaCH OF CHILDREN.
Do not exceed recommended dosage.
May cause drowsiness. avoid alcoholic beverages and do not drive or engage in activities requiring alertness.
Do not take if you are allergic to ammonium chloride, codeine or other opioids or diphenhydramine hydrochloride; are in your last trimester of pregnancy or nursing, as codeine may cause serious harm to a breastfed baby; have difficulty breathing, asthma or other chronic lung disease; have suffered head injury; are at risk of blocked intestines; suffer from seizures.
Consult your doctor before use if you have high blood pressure, heart or thyroid disease, diabetes, glaucoma, shortness of breath, persistent/chronic cough or difficulty in urination due to an enlargement of the prostate gland, or if you are elderly or pregnant, taking other medications that can make you sleepy or less alert, for example: narcotic analgesics or sedating antihistamines, or you are currently taking anti-depressants, including monoamine oxidase (MaO) inhibitor drugs, other prescription drugs or natural health products or 3 or more alcoholic beverages per day, or if you have recently had surgery under general anesthesia.
Consult your doctor if you feel sedated or drowsy, confused, have shallow breathing or have severe constipation.
If symptoms worsen, last for more than 1 week or are accompanied by a fever or excessive secretions, consult a physician.
Do not give with any other cough and cold medications since harm may occur.
In case of overdose: Call a Poison Control Centre or doctor immediately, even if you do not notice any signs or symptoms.
